Take back the tears that you hide
Take back the scars from my mind
Fallen angel ripped off her wings
Just to walk along with me
Don’t look at my wounds
Just turn away
Why can’t I stay in yesterday
You covered me for so long
While open wounds turn to scars
Dressings drop
I hide my face
Don’t look at me
You don’t want to stay
You’re getting married next month anyway
Don’t try to comfort me from miles away
I love you too much to ask you to stay
Just be happy… be happy I say
Just for once walk away

In the days quite settle
mother sits back to take but a breath
Let the lights dim away
release the stress of by which she bathes
She sits in her silence
And calls my name
Hands folded
neatly they lay
upon her lap
waiting today
and as the sun dims to dusk
